- Students will investigate what it means to be a good citizen, rights and responsibilities, following rules, symbols of our country and our leaders and government
Work in the Community
Big Question: How do people get what they need?
- Students will study how to make good choices, the difference between needs and wants, goods and services, buying and selling, spending and saving and jobs people do
Looking at Our World
Big Question: What is the world like?
- Students will explore where things are located, maps and globes, land and water, continents and oceans, our environment and getting from here to there

- Students will explain culture, how families are alike and different, our celebrations, how we celebrate our nation, stories from the past, and sharing cultures

- Students will discuss history and American heroes, measuring time, talking about time, life then and now, and technology over time
